At Forever Wild Foundation, we are proud to support the vital work of on-the-ground conservation teams through the provision of advanced tracking technology.
Recently, this technology played a critical role in the successful identification and monitoring of an injured male cheetah in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. Through close collaboration with @ezemvelokznwildlife, @africanwildlifevets, and drone guidance from Craig Lord of @wildskyFoundation, the @wildlifeact team was able to track his movements precisely and plan a swift, coordinated intervention.
Following a successful darting, the cheetah received urgent medical treatment for severe injuries. Given his genetic importance to the park’s population, every effort has been made to support his recovery, including temporary placement in a specialised holding facility where he continues to be closely monitored.
This moment is a powerful reminder of why consistent, long-term monitoring matters. It enables rapid response when it’s needed most – giving vulnerable animals a second chance.
We remain hopeful for his recovery and deeply grateful to all partners involved in making this intervention possible.
